Superior Peak Comp

The Ari Superior Peak is a dedicated downhill platform built around an airformed aluminum frame and 200mm of rear travel. Designed to handle both the World Cup race circuit and massive freeride features, it prioritizes structural durability and extensive adjustability over absolute weight savings. The chassis utilizes Ari’s Tetra Link suspension, engineered to balance deep-stroke absorption with enough mid-stroke support to keep the bike active on jump trails. Rather than forcing riders into a single setup, the frame offers eight distinct geometry and kinematic configurations, allowing it to transition from a linear, high-speed race rig to a progressive park bike. It suits gravity-focused riders who want a highly tunable, mechanic-friendly alloy chassis that can survive multiple seasons of lift-accessed abuse without requiring constant frame maintenance.

Fit and geometry

The Superior Peak features a highly adaptable geometry suite that allows riders to heavily manipulate the bike's handling footprint. Out of the box, the frame pairs a slack head tube angle with a relatively long front center—the S2 size stretches to a 480mm reach—creating a stable, centered posture for steep descents. A support bar behind the rocker link bolsters front-end stiffness, ensuring the steering remains precise under heavy cornering loads.

To manage the long front end, the rear center is adjustable. Riders can run the chainstays in a shorter setting to keep the bike agile in tight berms, or extend them for maximum straight-line stability. A dedicated flip-chip at the seat stays preserves the core geometry whether running a full 29-inch wheelset or a mixed mullet setup. Additionally, the frame includes swappable shock mounts to alter the suspension's leverage rate, accommodating both heavier riders looking for bottom-out resistance and lighter riders needing to access full travel. The straight head tube also accepts reach and angle-adjust headsets for further millimeter-level tuning.

Builds

Ari offers the Superior Peak in two complete builds, both utilizing the same airformed aluminum frame, external cable routing, and mixed-wheel configuration. The lineup focuses on durable, gravity-specific components rather than lightweight trail parts.

The entry-level Comp build prioritizes long-term value for privateer racers and park riders. It pairs a RockShox Boxxer Select fork with a base Vivid shock, delivering reliable damping without overwhelming setup complexity. Notably, it features TRP DH-R EVO brakes with massive 220mm rotors, providing top-tier stopping power rarely seen at this price point, alongside a dependable SRAM GX DH 7-speed drivetrain.

The Elite build steps up to premium suspension and drivetrain components for dedicated racers. It upgrades to a RockShox Boxxer Ultimate fork and Vivid Ultimate DH shock, offering finer high- and low-speed compression tuning. The drivetrain moves to SRAM’s X01 DH group, while braking is handled by SRAM Maven Silver four-piston calipers on 200mm HS2 rotors. Both models roll on Crankbrothers Synthesis DH Alloy wheelsets wrapped in heavy-duty Maxxis downhill casing tires, ensuring the rolling stock is ready for immediate bike park use.

Reviews

Reviewers consistently characterize the Superior Peak as a highly active downhill bike that avoids the deadened, passive feel common to long-travel platforms. Testers found that the Tetra Link suspension provides excellent small-bump compliance on harsh landings while maintaining a firm platform for generating momentum. One tester noted the bike showed an "eagerness to spring forward and maintain speed" (Bike Rumor), allowing riders to pump through rollers and berms efficiently.

While it handles steep, chunky terrain with composure, its standout trait is its agility. Multiple reviewers praised its cornering and maneuverability, with one group test concluding it was one of the most "fun, lively and playful" (Theloamwolf) options in its class. The suspension kinematics offer a "supportive mid-stroke" (Bike Rumor) that prevents the chassis from wallowing under heavy compressions, making it easy to loft over roots or pop off jump lips.

The primary tradeoff for this dynamic character is that it requires a more active riding style compared to dedicated high-pivot plow bikes. However, testers appreciated the massive margin for error the 200mm of travel provided, with one noting the platform offers "so much room for forgiveness" (YouTube) when casing jumps or navigating technical lines. For riders focused strictly on racing, some reviewers suggested adding an aftermarket O-Chain to further isolate the drivetrain and maximize speed through rough sections.
