Timp Peak Comp

The Ari Timp Peak is a long-travel, full-power electric mountain bike built for aggressive enduro riding and steep, technical terrain. Delivering 170mm of suspension travel front and rear, the current generation utilizes Ari’s CleanCast carbon frame and a revised Tetra-Link suspension platform. This iteration is defined by its highly tunable nature, allowing riders to configure the bike as a dedicated high-speed bruiser or a more agile trail machine depending on wheel size and battery choice. Positioned as a premium direct-to-consumer option, the Timp Peak targets riders who frequent brutal, rocky descents and demand robust motor support for massive elevation days. By offering a choice between a lighter 600Wh battery or a high-capacity 800Wh unit, alongside mullet or dual 29-inch wheel compatibility, Ari provides a versatile platform that adapts to varying rider weights and handling preferences without compromising its core capability in rough environments.

Fit and geometry

The Timp Peak’s geometry pairs aggressive descending angles with a highly efficient seated pedaling position. A slack 63.5-degree head tube angle provides the necessary stability for steep, high-speed descents, while the steep 77.5-degree seat tube angle keeps the rider’s weight forward during climbs. This upright, neutral posture prevents the front wheel from wandering on punchy, technical ascents, minimizing rider fatigue over long days.

Despite the long wheelbase required for high-speed stability, Ari utilizes relatively short 437mm chainstays across all frame sizes. This rear-center length helps mitigate the sluggishness often associated with full-power e-bikes, allowing riders to initiate turns and navigate tight switchbacks with less effort. The frame also features a low standover height and deep seat tube insertion, accommodating long-travel dropper posts across the size range. A four-way adjustable flip-chip system allows owners to toggle between dual 29-inch and mullet wheel setups while fine-tuning the bottom bracket height, ensuring the geometry remains balanced regardless of the chosen configuration.

Builds

The Timp Peak lineup spans eight builds, ranging from $7,549 to $11,999, all utilizing the same CleanCast carbon frame and the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor. The primary division in the catalog is battery capacity, with every tier—Comp, Elite, Pro, and Team—offered in both a standard configuration and a slightly cheaper, lighter 600Wh variant.

The entry-level Comp models feature RockShox ZEB Rush RC forks, Super Deluxe shocks, and Shimano Deore 12-speed mechanical drivetrains. Stepping up to the Elite tier introduces SRAM GX Eagle Transmission wireless shifting and TRP DH-R EVO PRO brakes. The Pro builds represent a significant jump in suspension quality, upgrading to RockShox ZEB Ultimate forks with ButterCups and Vivid Ultimate rear shocks, alongside SRAM X0 Transmission and Maven Silver brakes. At the top, the Team builds feature SRAM XX Transmission, Maven Ultimate brakes, and Crankbrothers Synthesis E-MTB carbon wheels. Across the board, Ari’s direct-to-consumer model delivers a high-value component specification, outfitting even the mid-tier options with premium wheelsets and heavy-duty, e-bike-rated parts designed to withstand high torque and aggressive riding.

Reviews

Reviewers consistently praise the Timp Peak for its exceptional suspension performance, particularly its ability to absorb heavy impacts while remaining composed. The revised kinematics, which lower the anti-rise, keep the rear suspension noticeably active under heavy braking. This translates to a highly damped ride over rough terrain, with one tester noting that the bike felt like a "trophy truck" (Findyourhavenoutdoors) when soaking up large bumps. At high speeds, the chassis remains stable, prompting another reviewer to call it the "let off the brakes bike" (YouTube) because it settles into its travel and becomes more comfortable as velocity increases.

However, testers note a distinct split in the bike's handling personality depending on how it is configured. When set up with dual 29-inch wheels and the heavier 800Wh battery, heavier riders found it leans heavily toward the "bash and smash" (Findyourhavenoutdoors) side of the spectrum, excelling as a straight-line plow. Conversely, testers riding the mullet configuration with the lighter 600Wh battery were surprised by its agility, describing the handling as "responsive and snappy" (NSMB) in tight corners. Across all setups, the consensus points to a highly capable descender that masks its weight well, though riders seeking maximum maneuverability are strongly advised to opt for the mixed-wheel setup.
