La Sal Peak
The Ari La Sal Peak is a long-travel enduro mountain bike designed for riders who earn their descents. With 170mm of suspension travel front and rear, it occupies the heavy-hitting end of the spectrum, yet it deliberately avoids the sluggish demeanor typical of dedicated gravity sleds. Instead, Ari built a highly efficient pedaler that behaves much like an aggressive trail bike on the climbs, making it well-suited for massive backcountry loops and steep ascents.
While it easily handles bike park laps and rough terrain, the La Sal Peak is fundamentally a generalist. It caters to the rider who wants the safety net of deep travel for steep chutes and drops, but refuses to compromise on agility or climbing efficiency during long days in the saddle. The carbon frame utilizes a proprietary molding process to reduce weight, resulting in a chassis that balances durability with a compliant ride quality.

Fit and geometry
The La Sal Peak’s geometry strikes a careful balance between high-speed stability and low-speed maneuverability. A slack 63.5-degree head tube angle provides the necessary steering composure for steep descents, while relatively short 437mm chainstays keep the rear end agile through tight switchbacks. This combination prevents the bike from feeling cumbersome on flatter, slower trails.
Rider posture is heavily influenced by the steep 77.5-degree seat tube angle. This places the rider in a forward-biased, upright position that keeps weight centered over the bottom bracket during seated climbs, preventing the front wheel from wandering on steep pitches.
Standover height is exceptionally low across the size range, measuring just under 742mm on a medium frame. This low-slung top tube allows riders to run long-travel dropper posts and move freely over the bike in technical terrain. A flip-chip in the linkage allows the geometry to be preserved if a rider chooses to swap to a mixed-wheel setup, though the bike ships as a dedicated 29er.
Builds
Ari offers the La Sal Peak in five builds, leveraging a direct-to-consumer model to deliver highly competitive component specifications. The lineup starts with the Comp, which pairs a RockShox Zeb Select fork and Super Deluxe R shock with a dependable Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain and TRP DH-R EVO Pro brakes.
Moving up to the Elite build introduces significant suspension upgrades, featuring a RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork and Vivid Ultimate shock, alongside a Shimano XT drivetrain. The mid-range Pro build shifts to SRAM’s X0 Eagle Transmission and Maven Silver brakes, while upgrading the wheels to Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloys.
At the top of the ladder, the Team XTR and Team XX builds cater to premium tastes. The Team XTR swaps to Fox Factory suspension and DT Swiss EXC 1501 Carbon wheels, while the flagship Team XX utilizes RockShox Ultimate suspension, a SRAM XX Eagle Transmission, Maven Ultimate brakes, and Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon wheels. Across all builds, Ari includes mechanic-friendly frame details like a threaded bottom bracket, fully sleeved internal cable routing, and a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger.
Reviews
Reviewers consistently praise the La Sal Peak for its exceptional climbing efficiency, often noting that it masks its 170mm of travel on the way up. Testers found that the suspension platform resists pedal bob and transfers power effectively, with one noting that it "motors forward and maintains traction" (Bike Rumor) even on punchy, technical rock faces. This climbing prowess leads many to describe it as the "most trail bike-y" (PinkBike) option in the enduro category.
On descents, the bike favors a playful, active riding style over mindless plowing. Because it "rides a bit higher in its travel" (Singletracks), testers found it easy to pop off roots and change lines quickly. However, this agility comes with a distinct tradeoff in high-speed, chunky terrain. The frame's compliant feel and lighter shock tune mean the bike is "apt to be pinballed in some of the rockier chutes" (PinkBike) compared to stiffer, race-focused machines.
Ultimately, the consensus points to a highly versatile mountain bike. While elite racers seeking maximum straight-line stability might prefer a heavier, more damped chassis, the La Sal Peak excels for riders who value a responsive, comfortable ride that won't leave them exhausted after a massive day of pedaling.
