La Sal Peak Team XX

The Ari La Sal Peak is a long-travel enduro mountain bike designed for riders who earn their descents. With 170mm of suspension travel front and rear, it occupies the heavy-hitting end of the spectrum, yet it deliberately avoids the sluggish demeanor typical of dedicated gravity sleds. Instead, Ari built a highly efficient pedaler that behaves much like an aggressive trail bike on the climbs, making it well-suited for massive backcountry loops and steep ascents.

While it easily handles bike park laps and rough terrain, the La Sal Peak is fundamentally a generalist. It caters to the rider who wants the safety net of deep travel for steep chutes and drops, but refuses to compromise on agility or climbing efficiency during long days in the saddle. The carbon frame utilizes a proprietary molding process to reduce weight, resulting in a chassis that balances durability with a compliant ride quality.

Fit and geometry

The La Sal Peak’s geometry strikes a careful balance between high-speed stability and low-speed maneuverability. A slack 63.5-degree head tube angle provides the necessary steering composure for steep descents, while relatively short 437mm chainstays keep the rear end agile through tight switchbacks. This combination prevents the bike from feeling cumbersome on flatter, slower trails.

Rider posture is heavily influenced by the steep 77.5-degree seat tube angle. This places the rider in a forward-biased, upright position that keeps weight centered over the bottom bracket during seated climbs, preventing the front wheel from wandering on steep pitches.

Standover height is exceptionally low across the size range, measuring just under 742mm on a medium frame. This low-slung top tube allows riders to run long-travel dropper posts and move freely over the bike in technical terrain. A flip-chip in the linkage allows the geometry to be preserved if a rider chooses to swap to a mixed-wheel setup, though the bike ships as a dedicated 29er.

The lineup starts with the Comp, which pairs a RockShox Zeb Select fork and Super Deluxe R shock with a dependable Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain and TRP DH-R EVO Pro brakes.
